Fall is here, and we are enjoying the beautiful leaves and cooler weather. God provided a wonderful parsonage for us to live in as a home base between our trips. What a joy to rekindle old friendships, meet new friends, and connect with more ministry partners in the Midwest.

Audrey is doing great. She is a happy and healthy baby, and it is awesome to watch her grow and develop every day. We’ve had the added joy of sharing her with both sets of grandparents over the last few months.

John-Mark is using his spare time to record an album of kora music. It will be a mix of African kora standards, Western hymns, and scripture songs in the Manya language. In July, John‐Mark was also able to publish his book, Cracking The Code: The Confused Traveler’s Guide to Liberian English,
and it is now available on Amazon here.

With all the rioting throughout the Muslim world in recent weeks over a certain offensive film, many have asked us about our safety in going to work with the Manya. Thankfully there has been no such reaction in Liberia, as Islamic extremism has not yet taken root there. When cultural Muslims like the Manya hear about such instances over the radio, many actually question their faith. We pray their search for truth would lead them to Jesus, the true Prince of Peace.

As we keep in touch with the Manya believers in Liberia, we are excited to hear about new people coming to Christ. There is a real spiritual hunger among the Manya, and an unprecedented openness to the gospel. Our dear friend Ansu has even started translating some shorter books of the New Testament into the Manya language! The believers in Liberia eagerly await our coming. We greatly look forward to serving alongside these faithful brothers and sisters in reaching the Manya for Christ.

People often ask us when exactly we will leave for Liberia. We don’t have a date yet, but will go when we have all our support in. We are happy to report that we have raised almost everything we need for our start‐up costs. Thank you so much again to everyone who has given up to this point! We also have about 80% of our monthly need promised. Just another $900 remains in monthly support before we can leave.

We can buy our tickets when we have 85% promised. John-Mark turns 30 on October 28th and the best birthday present he can imagine is to have the plane tickets in hand! We have started a campaign to find 30 new regular partners who will commit to $30 a month. Several have joined already. We pray that many more of you will do the same. Please Pray:

*That we will get the remaining funds we need before the cold Wisconsin winter sets in!

*That we would not be anxious, but trust God and His timing.

* For the Manya believers who face ongoing persecution for their faith

30 at 30

John-Mark turns 30 years old at the end of the month! For his 30th birthday, he would like nothing more than to have our tickets to Liberia in hand. So, we are starting a "30 at 30" campaign. We are looking for 30 individuals to partner with us at $30/month. At that, we would have just about what we need to go. If you feel led to partner with us, you can sign up by clicking on this link.
