Dear Friends and Family,
Yes, there’s another Sheppard on the way! We are very excited about this new addition to our family coming in August. Our other “babies” are growing up fast. Audrey and Noah are a real joy to parent. Audrey loves playing “hello bear” with her stuffed animals, and helping out in the kitchen. Noah has grown into a handsome, loving little toddler, and it’s exciting to watch him learn new things every day.
October and November were very busy, with over 50 meetings and appointments with friends and supporters in Wisconsin, Minnesota, South and North Carolina, and Indiana. We are continuing to share locally about our work in Liberia and find new ministry partners, as our support needs have increased.
The Ebola crisis in West Africa continues to impact our lives in many ways. As many of you know, our friend and neighbor Ansu passed away from Ebola in September. Thankfully his family was spared, and there have not been any new cases of Ebola in Lofa country (where we live), since the end of October. We keep in touch with our friends there, and life seems to be going on as normal. We are encouraged by the continued decline of Ebola cases in Liberia, but much work remains to be done before this epidemic is stopped.
We still don’t know when we will be able to return to Liberia, but we are hoping for April or May. We would like to spend a few months there before returning to the States to have the baby. John-Mark continues to work on the Bible translation. Since our return in July he has completed drafts of Mark and Luke, and is currently working through the book of John. Thank you for standing with us during these uncertain times.
